Benefits: • Quarterly Bonuses + Annual Performance Bonus • Health Insurance • Dental Insurance • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Retirement plan Responsibilities: • Review and audit settlement statements, lien ledgers, and disbursement breakdowns for accuracy and completeness. • Verify all settlement figures, including gross settlement, attorney fees, costs, reductions, medical balances, and client net proceeds. • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and providers to confirm final lien amounts, reductions, and outstanding balances prior to distribution. • Prepare clear, client-friendly Settlement Distribution Overviews that explain each line item and the client’s final net recovery. • Ensure all required settlement documents are executed (releases, lien/LOP agreements, HIPAA authorizations, closing statements, etc.) before funds are released. • Confirm trust accounting compliance, including proper handling of client funds, documentation, and internal approvals prior to disbursement. • Request, track, and document lien payoff confirmations and provider final bills; follow up as needed to finalize numbers. • Process and coordinate issuance of checks (client, providers, lienholders, costs, co-counsel) and maintain accurate distribution records. • Schedule and conduct in-office client settlement appointments to review the distribution overview, answer questions, and deliver the final settlement check. • Provide a professional and celebratory client experience at closing, including setting expectations, explaining timelines, and ensuring clients leave informed and satisfied. • Communicate proactively with clients regarding settlement timing, required signatures, payoff status, and next steps to close the file. • Maintain meticulous notes and file documentation in the case management system to reflect approvals, payoffs, and distribution activity. • Identify discrepancies or red flags (missing bills, unexpected liens, incorrect fees/costs, unclear reductions) and escalate promptly for resolution. • Support continuous improvement of the settlement distribution workflow by maintaining templates, checklists, and quality-control procedures. • Handle multiple case distributions simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high accuracy and professionalism. Qualifications: • Client-facing professionalism and ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and confidence. • Comfortable working with numbers daily , including math checks, balancing distributions, and spotting discrepancies. • Client-facing professionalism and ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and confidence. • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and accounting/trust staff. • Reliable attendance and punctuality , especially for scheduled client settlement appointments. Compensation: $22 - $25 hourly
