Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Generate and updates employee and other HR files, both paper and electronic. Establishes and maintains department records and reports, including updates to the LHF HRIS system with employee information.
Recommends new or revised approaches, policies, and/or procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Heavy focus on all aspects of recruiting and staffing function: Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and production workers; writes and places advertisements in various media; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates.
Conducts and/or coordinates reference checking as well as medical exams and drug tests for post-offer applicants.
Schedules and conducts new employee orientation.
Conducts exit interviews.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
Participate in other special projects for the department.
Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· A four (4) year bachelor’s degree (BS) in Human Resources or Business Administration or a related degree with 1-2 years of experience; or alternatively, a related Associates (2-year) degree with 3-5 years of experience.
· Recruiting experience in a CNC machine shop or related industrial manufacturing setting.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
· Excellent reading, written, verbal listening and overall communication and comprehension skills.
· Ability to utilize various sourcing and recruiting software. (i.e. ZipRecruiter, Monster, CareerBuilder), as well as LHF's HRIS software
· Self motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work cross functionally and interact with various levels of the organization.
· Must have good organizational, time management, and planning skills.
· Attention to detail required.
· Willingness to travel and participate in local career fairs
