FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE: TWO INSTRUCTORS - ONE IN FREMONT & ONE IN MILLBRAE Job Description: Lekha Writing Center is looking for instructors and interns to teach our popular writing camps during the summer in and around the Bay Area. We are currently looking to hire instructors immediately for our Fremont, Millbrae locations. Instructors will teach academic and creative writing classes to students between the ages of 6 - 15. TEACHERS NEEDED TO TEACH THE WEEKS OF 7/25 - 7/29 AND 8/1 - 8/5. The Lead Writing Instructor will: Teach two camps each week - creative writing camps before lunch and academic writing after lunch. Teach for six hours each day- three hours before lunch and three hours after. Provide feedback and create portfolios. Supervise campers during lunch and breaks. Be responsible for set up and take down wherever required. Teach using the curriculum provided while adding their flair to the program. Interns may either aid the lead instructor at a campsite or teach a small class independently. The ideal candidate Has at least a bachelor's degree (Interns can be working towards their bachelor's.) Is an excellent writer Has an interest in seeing children excel as writers and storytellers. Enjoys working with children Commits to teaching for a minimum of four weeks. Is available Mondays - Friday between 8:30am - 4:30pm. They must have their form of transportation. Be punctual and responsible.
