    Job Description

    OVERVIEW:

    A Bronx based Property Management Company is seeking a motivated individual with knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC/HOME Programs that possesses leasing experience. The Leasing Compliance Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing initial and annual re-certification, tax credit compliance reporting, processing adjustments to tenant accounts, lease renewals and DHCR annual apartment registrations and leasing. S/he will conduct all job related duties in compliance with LIHTC guidelines, other housing contracts and equal housing opportunity laws.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Interacting with applicants and various city and state agencies
    • Compliance review of tenant files and scans
    • Compliance review for HDC/HPD approval & lease signings
    • Conducting annual recertification compliance review, close-out memos
    • Generating Initial and Annual Owner Certifications for HOME & LIHTC monitors, including processing monitoring fees
    • Communicating monthly with funders and syndicators, including submission of monthly and quarterly rent rolls
    • Answering high volumes of phone calls, scanning, emailing & filing/maintaining files; and following up on each
    • Performing other related duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) REQUIRED
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Equivalent Experience
    • Familiarity with Tax Credit Compliance in a Real Estate Finance Environment
    • Experience and/or commitment to working with low income populations
    • Working knowledge of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Section 8

    SKILLS:

    • Detail oriented and organized
    • Flexibility, creativity and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Superior writing and analytical skills
    • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
