Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lending Intern to support our lending team during the summer. This is a learning-focused position designed to give students real-world exposure to lending operations, financial analysis, and customer service in a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with organizing and maintaining loan files and documentation
Review loan packets for completeness and accuracy
Help prepare follow-up communications with customers regarding missing documents
Support the lending team with research, data entry, and administrative tasks
Observe loan officer meetings, loan closings, and credit discussions
Assist with compiling financial information or reports for loan reviews
Participate in department meetings and learning sessions
Complete a final presentation or project summarizing internship experience
Learning Objectives:
Gain hands-on experience with lending documentation, procedures, and compliance
Learn how banks evaluate creditworthiness and manage risk
Build professional communication and teamwork skills
Understand the role of community banks in supporting individuals and small businesses
Qualifications:
Currently a college senior or rising senior in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Flexibility to work within a multi-discipline team
Professional demeanor and willingness to learn
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Internship Duration:
May 18th through July 31st 25 hours per week
