    Job Description

     

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    This position will support Company management and key team members by carrying out responsibilities of the finance and accounting area. You will be responsible for performing all accounting responsibilities including:  financial closing and monthly reporting, P&L analysis and commentary, weekly cash flow management and reporting, preparing and analyzing budgets, Cost Accounting review and analysis, management of accounts payables and accounts receivables. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and demonstrated knowledge of technical and operational accounting and finance functions are a must.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Daily Accounting Process:

    1)      Oversee/Manage Accounts Payable processing including review of vendor invoice coding and payments to ensure timely, accurate recording and payment of vendor invoices.  This includes the ensuring the expenses are properly recorded to the appropriate period and general ledger account.

    2)      Oversee/Manage the Revenue/Billing processes including:

    a)       Timely, accurate booking of Sales and related Cost of Goods Sold

    b)      Proper recording of related selling expenses (depletion allowances, commissions, etc)

    3)      Review/manage Accounts Receivable balances to ensure timely collection of balances due and issuance of collection notices and follow up.  Ensure Company management and sales team are informed of developing collection issues.

    4)      Oversee/Manage Payroll process including:

    a)       Timely, accurate issuance of employee payments

    b)      Filing and payment of payroll taxes

    5)      Monitor and report cash position and trends to Company management.

    Monthly Financial Reporting

    1)      Oversee/manage the monthly accounting close process to enable timely reporting of financial performance and identification of trends

    2)      Preparation of the monthly Financial Statements to include current month and Year-To -Date Income Statements with actuals compared to budget and prior year.  Financial Reporting will include preparation of Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.

    a)       Comparative variance analysis/comments versus both Budget and Prior Year

    b)      In depth review/analysis of significant, unusual trends in key financial metrics

    c)       Lead financial discussion with Company management

    3)      Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of key balance sheet account including Cash, Accounts Receivable, monthly accruals and Reserves and investigate any discrepancies

    Annual Accounting

    1)      Assemble annual budget for all entities based on historical trends and key assumptions provided by Company management including:

    a)       Monthly Income Statements and key balance sheet accounts.

    b)      Monthly Cash Flow projections.

    c)       Periodic updates to current annual forecasts (based on actual performance trends) as appropriate and/or requested by Company management.

    2)      Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data

    3)      Periodic preparation of Financial Analysis of Company projects and/or initiatives as requested by Company management

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    1)      Bachelors or higher degrees in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)

    2)      STRINOS or similar enterprise software solid experience 

    3)      3-5 years experience in accounting or finance; Manufacturing or similar cost accounting experience (preferred)

    4)      Skills, Knowledge, and Ability:

    a)       Strong ability to use MS Office packages, including MS Word and Excel

    b)      Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as good organizational skills

    c)       Detailed oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances

    5)      Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadline

    6)      Good at working independently, thinking critically and providing quality ideas/input to improving accounting processes
