Overview Seeking a Part-time, Assistant Catering Chef, to join the Lesner Inn Catering Company Culinary Team. The Lesner Inn is one of the premier Wedding and Special Event caterers in Virginia Beach, VA. The candidate must be eager to learn, as well as have the creativity to develop a skillset which will benefit our culinary team and our customers.
Qualifications
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of formal culinary/quality foodservice training or commensurate experience working in a high-volume Restaurant or Hotel. Also, the candidate should be highly organized with the ability to plan and execute several events simultaneously. Must be able to adapt to job specific requirements and develop a working relationship with our Catering Management Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Lesner Inn Catering Staff in all aspects of food production and event execution
Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards are met
Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment
Provide training and professional developmental opportunities for kitchen staff
Assist Catering Chef with the planning and execution of events, menu tastings, and advance preparation
Ensure safety standards and sanitation standards are exceeded
Managing stock on hand and utilizing unused portions to help reduce loss
