    Job Description

    THE ROLE We are on the search for a creative Graphics Editor focusing on enhancing our visual storytelling across across our editorial content. Reporting to the Head of Editorial, you will work closely on our existing products and new initiatives telling stories visually through infographics, illustrations, design elements, and data visualizations. This role serves as the bridge between our Editorial and Creative Studio teams. As a small team, you will have the opportunity to help shape our product and editorial direction and see your work have a real world impact. 

    • Develop eye-catching, informative visual elements to complement written articles with a keen eye for detail and strong editorial judgment.
    • Solve editorial challenges and explain complex ideas with innovative approaches, using design standards that are flexible.
    • See the larger editorial content package and brainstorm ideas to incorporate infographics, quizzes, slideshows, GIFs and other visual components.
    • Ensure content meets established voice and tone standards; keeping editorial quality consistent across content verticals.
    • Communicate confidently and effectively with both editorial and design teams.
    • Build relationships with cross-team partners to ensure objectives are met.
    • Manage and refine collaboration process and workflow.
    • Edit written copy and headlines for impact and engagement.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 2-4 years of experience in a visual capacity/graphics reporter role, preferably in digital media, journalism, or branded content 
    • Possess a strong background in visual content/journalism and the ability to quickly match content to the right visual asset (GIF, infographic, slideshow, or quiz) to engage an audience  
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different teams
    • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
    • High degree of organization and ability to plan steps involved in a project
    • Manage timelines and deadlines efficiently 
    • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail and factual accuracy
    • Embraces challenges and new methods of thinking to tell a story
    • A portfolio that demonstrates passion for visual editorial elements and infographics
    • Keen eye for design and a strong sense of voice
    • Familiarity with photo and design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and/or other relevant tools are a plus

    COMPENSATION

    $60,000 - $70,000 per year

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (required) in English/Journalism/Communications or related field.
    • US work authorization (All applicants must possess proper US work eligibility and authorization documents)
