    Job Description

    Our team at Level Studios is seeking a Designer for an immediate temporary/freelance opportunity. We are looking for someone with a hybrid graphic design/production background who has a willingness to learn, attention to process and details, and a firm grasp of required design software. The Designer will contribute to the asset production, design and delivery of standardized layouts for websites, email communications, banner campaigns, and other projects with oversight and input from the greater creative team. The digital production design aspect of this gig will require partnering closely with the lead Production Designer and web/app Developers to output high quality images for websites and apps while maintaining rigorous graphic standards.

    The ideal candidate will have a foundation in art and design with a strong technical production mindset. We are looking for someone to take ideas and execute on the “how will this get built” aspect of the project. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Create designs based on existing templates, adhering to design principles in established layouts.
    • Create adaptations of designs for different devices, locales, and environments.
    • Flow copy into design files, adjusting balance of imagery to copy as necessary.
    • Light retouching of design assets according to a standardized process.
    • Prepare files for creative reviews.
    • Produce pixel perfect image assets according to the client's standards and best practices. 
    • Perform archival duty and comps maintenance for ongoing project cycles.  
    • Invest in creating and maintaining client-side relationships to keep our team up-to-date on latest production practices and standards necessary for the client team.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Preferred: 1-3 years of experience in Digital Arts for Marketing or 3-5 years of professional experience in visual/graphic arts discipline.
    • Proficiency in the formal elements of design including typography, layout, balance, proportion.
    • Some understanding of the technical aspects of web development.
    • Fluency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are required; Experience with Sketch, and native Mac apps like Keynote are preferred.
    • Familiarity with prototyping and motion programs a bonus.
    • Ability to perform prescribed tasks with a level of exactness.
    • Excellent digital file structure and asset management skills to keep work organized so it may easily be modified by others.
    • Ability to clearly articulate ideas and be understood by creative, project management, and development team.
    • Ability to stick to project schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
    • Ability to use asset tracking (Quip) and ticketing software (JIRA).
    • Receptive to constructive criticism.
    • Ability to work West coast (PST) working hours.
