JMT's Allentown Structures Team is seeking an Intern to be responsible for various tasks and projects to enhance their experience in the field utilizing their education. The structures intern will be asked to work closely with structural engineering employees to carry out an array of assigned tasks with a focus on the structural design of transportation projects that involve the replacement and/or rehabilitation of highway structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, sign structures and sound barriers. The successful candidate will be based in our Allentown, PA office and work closely with the structural engineering team in JMT’s Allentown and Philadelphia offices. There is also the potential to work remotely with staff in other JMT’s offices across the County. Occasionally, the position may involve some travel between the JMT offices. Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Some field work may be required with personal protection equipment provided by JMT. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
