    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Conducts highly specialized activities regarding the design, implementation and maintenance of the organization’s application and/or IT infrastructure.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

    • Evaluate and deploy system of systems architectures involving both hardware and software components
    • Set up and administer Kubernetes clusters
    • Collaborate with Management, System Architects, System Engineers, Software Developers, Data Scientists, and Information Assurance stakeholders to understand future deployments and requirements to support their project exigencies and improve efficiency in a Kubernetes based platform
    • Coordinate with Data Science and technical leadership to identify future AI needs and requirements
    • Provide technical architecture leadership with the responsibility to ensure the efficient use of resources and the selection of appropriate technology
    • Analyze current data designs to optimize and provide structural improvements to handle the growth of workloads
    • Define and grow HPC/AI infrastructure and best practices
    • Spin up new systems and support existing orchestration and data services.
    • Conceptualizes, models, and guides the logical design and development of systems architectures, and defines key systems capabilities and performance requirements.
    • Defines total systems design, technology, and interface operational concepts.
    • May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.
    • Designs and develops system architectures and defines key capabilities and performance requirements.
    • Defines total systems design and technology maturity constraints in accordance with mission requirements.
    • Develops system element architecture and design and interface definitions.
    • Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.
    • Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
    • Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.
    • Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.
    • Work closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.
    • Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.
    • Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or related field, or equivalent experience (Master's preferred)

    Minimum of 8 years’ experience

    Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

    U.S. Citizenship required

    TOP SECRET Clearance with immediately eligibility for SCI

    Experience in the following:

    • Docker
    • Linux
    • Kubernetes 
    • OpenShift

    Security+ CE certification 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • M.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field

    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist

    • Cloud knowledge

    • Linux+

    • ML-Ops knowledge

    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
