  • Responsibilities

    The Financial Coordinator will oversee the workflow related to the dental claim management of the Medicaid programs, including MassHealth insurance and other identified programs administered by Dentaquest and Skygen/Scion. They will assist the Billing and Claims Manager to effectively manage the BUGSDM Masshealth insurance (and other state insurances) dental claim submission and prior authorization request processes, and manage Accounts Receivable, in particular items billed to MassHealth and other state medicaid insurances. They will be responsible for the claim denial and resubmittal process. In addition, they will assist the Manager and Senior Manager on all financial functions within the Office of Clinical Finance.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field required.
    • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of direct experience processing dental insurance billing claims, requesting prior authorization, posting receipts, and investigating denied claim, including claim resubmittal,  related to Masshealth and government administered insurances. Work experience must be within a dental facility. 
    • Proven experience working with MS Excel capturing data and generating reports is required.
    • Understanding basic accounting principles is preferred.
    • Must be able to demonstrate customer service skills.
    • Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking to solve issues and provide recommended solution for resolution.
    • Must be a self-starter with the ability to be proactive and work independently.
    • Must be comfortable working in a team environment collaborating with coworkers and other staff throughout the school
    • Must be organized with attention to detail
    • Must have effective communication skills both written and verbal
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced technology driven environment
