Responsible for overseeing and facilitating the Thurman Centers daily programs and expanding the Centers use of the arts to bring students together for creative experiences that provoke conversation, reflection,action and networking. This position also requires oversight of small grant funding available to students for collaborative programs, projects and experiences that fit under the mission of spreading a common ground ethos across Boston University. Collaborate with the Community Service Center to promote culturally-conscious and world-wise volunteers through programs that stimulate discussion, reflection and volunteerism. Arrange traditional visual art and photography exhibits and programs featuring live music, dance, poetry, literature, film and culinary sciences. Meet with students who apply for small grant funding and determining their awards. Oversee student programs funded by Thurman Center grants in concert with the Assistant Director for Finance. Work with the Community Service Center to increase social justice education, critical reflection, leadership development and community outreach.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree required, Master's degree preferred. Three to five years of experience required.
