This producer will be based at NPR's bureau in Culver City, California.
Here and Now is NPR's midday, national news magazine program produced at WBUR in Boston. Here and Now producers work closely with the program's hosts and editors to produce segments and stories for the daily two-hour program and related podcast. In this position you will conceive and help execute stories through research, writing copy, gathering program elements, and pre-interview and booking of guests. This person will also be proficient in editing audio. The producer will provide technical support for the host in the studio to record interviews. The producer is expected to work in the digital space including writing stories, providing links and other content. The ideal candidate is someone with a minimum of five years working on a daily news program and who is comfortable with deadlines in the broadcast and digital worlds. The candidate will also be familiar with covering live, breaking news.
