RAIL SERVICES MATERIAL COORDINATOR I

This position coordinates the movement of warranty/repair & overhaul material between the Rail Services Warehouse and the factory floor, according to schedules or priorities. The position must ensure timely turn-around of the material in the repair and overhaul process.

Some of the duties include maintaining manual or computerized SAP records and assisting the Repair Department personnel as well as the factory floor.

 MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

1. Verify that items received match the information on the drawing and the RMA.
2. Receive warranty and/or repair & overhaul material into the SAP system.              
3. Determine condition of material upon arrival and report this to RS Coordinator. (i.e. shipping damage, missing components, wrong part number, qty. or serial number)
4. Effectively disposition and process material for the next step in the process (Return to Vendor, proper work cell, etc.)  
5. Notify proper personnel when a FAR or CAR is required.
6. Update the SAP system as to the location of material.
7. Select and/or generate Service Order routings for material that’s been received.  
8. Under the guidance of Repair Shop Coordinators or Sr. personnel, ensure material flows efficiently and in a timely manner to and from the factory.
9. Assist Repair Shop Coordinators to validate and disposition RMA material that’s been received.                                                                                               
10. Assist Repair Shop personnel in returning material to the vendor.              
11. Pull & delivery material to shipping as instructed in order to meet deadlines.        
12. Using the Knorr 5S standard, organize material in the Rail Service warehouse ensuring it is neat, organized, accurate and  safe.                           
13. Assist with daily operations of the warehouse.
14. Perform other duties as instructed by Management and Sr. personnel.

Required Skills

• Good Product knowledge
• Forklift Certified preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar MRP system

Required Experience

• High School diploma required
• Associates Degree desired
• Preferred 1-2 years’ experience in related Rail Industry.
• Required 1–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or service center.
