The Laboratory Technician is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team and performs various laboratory procedures for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease.

Education

BS(MT) or BS in chemical, physical, biological science.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Communicates results and informational requests with clinical professionals as necessary.

Performs routine laboratory test procedures as outlined in the laboratory standard operating procedure manuals.

Maintains and assists with continual compliance as required by standards of accrediting or regulatory agencies.

Maintains a neat and clean working area at all times, cleaning equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas.

Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

1-2 years of Lab experience

Exceptional documentation, written and verbal communication skills

Experience in the oversight of team activities highly desired

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
