    Lexar Labs is seeking a full-time LC-MS Scientist/Toxicologist to be a part of our growing team in our CAP-certified clinical laboratory located in Lexington, KY. Lexar Labs is a reference lab that specializes in LC-MS/MS-based urine and oral fluid drug testing. The successful applicant will provide consulting services and will conduct on-site method validations for physician office laboratories located throughout the United States.

    ‪‪ Primary Responsibilities:

    Report results following standard operating procedures for patient specimens, proficiency samples and quality controls.

    Validate instrumentation and methodology on-site at client laboratory.

    Supervise or perform instrument and equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

    Serve as a technical resource, providing problem solving, troubleshooting, interpreting/consulting and verification of specimen quality and test results for off-site client laboratories.

    Provide staff and management with timely information and constructive, actionable feedback.

    Occasional travel to client laboratories to provide on-site technical support and training of personnel.

    Provide client laboratories with guidance to maintain COLA and CLIA regulatory compliance.

    ‪ Education and Experience:

    ‪Minimum B.S. in Chemistry, Biology or Toxicology, M.S. or Ph. D preferred

    Minimum 1-2 years of LC-MS experience required, experience with Ab Sciex 3200, 4500, or 5500 preferred

    Competencies:

    ‪Knowledge of basic LC-MS terminology

    Willing to devote upwards of 50% of time to traveling to client laboratories to conduct validations of methodology and instrumentation

    Ability to operate, maintain, and repair LC-MS systems

    ‪Ability to work with accuracy and speed in a team-oriented environment

    ‪Effective written and verbal communication

    ‪Ability to manage detailed information with minimal errors and maximum accuracy

    ‪Ability to handle stressful situations caused by high volume and deadlines

    ‪Adherence to company safety regulations, department policies and procedures

    Physical requirements

    Ability to speak, hear, and see

    Must be able to stand for long periods of time

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    Work in a cool temperature environment

    Flexibility with hours, based on workload
