The Lab Technician is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team and performs various laboratory procedures for the purpose of diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of disease. Primary responsibilities will include preparation of human urine specimens for analysis via LC-MS/MS technology, entry of patient demographic information to the laboratory information system (LIS), and periodic maintenance of laboratory instrumentation. The successful candidate will also ensure that the laboratory remains in compliance with the regulations established by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA).

Education

B.S. in chemical, physical, or biological science

Required Skills and Experience

1-2 years of lab experience evaluating and/or processing human specimens in a clinical environment

Experience with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AB SCIEX 3200, 4500 or 5500 mass spectrometers

Technical background in LC-MS/MS technology

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
