    Job Summary :

    The PART-TIME collector/phlebotomist represents the face of our organization to patients who are seen by providers using the hiring Company's lab. In this role, you will collect urine, oral fluid and/or blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following all established protocols and procedures. The collector has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Simultaneously, you will explain the collection process to patients, while collecting specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. This position will work two days per week, Monday and Tuesday only.

    Job Responsibilities:

    In this role, you will represent the Company in the most professional way possible.

    Collect urine/oral fluid/blood specimens according to established procedures. MUST BE ABLE TO OBSERVE BOTH MALE AND FEMALE PATIENTS DURING THE PROCESS.

    Ensure that only the tests requested by the healthcare provider are entered into each patient order.

    Enter all required patient/test information into the Company LIS or complete the Company's manual requisition in order to process, result and bill the sample.

    Obtain copies of patient ID and current proof of insurance. These copies are then scanned into the Company LIS and attached into the patient record. If not scanned into the LIS, copies will be placed in the back of the specimen bag and accompany the specimen to the lab.

    Following completion of electronic or manual requisition, the specimens are then processed, which includes: utilization of the vacutainer system, labeling, centrifuging, splitting specimens as required by test order and preparing for shipment to the lab.

    Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature following collection of specimen (urine/oral fluid/blood) to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.

    Perform lab-related clerical duties as assigned such as data entry, weekly inventory report, maintaining/ordering testing supplies, missing information report, etc.

    Read, understand and comply with all pertinent Company policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. HIPPA, BBP, Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).

    Maintain all appropriate specimen logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.

    Complete training courses and keep up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.

    Participate on special projects and teams.

    Stay up-to-date on company communications, by consistently checking Company email on a daily basis.

    This position will work two days per week only, Monday and Tuesday.

    Job Requirements:

    Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.

    Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

    Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.

    Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which could include weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

    Committed to all Company policies and procedures including company dress code, social media policy and Employee Health & Safety.

    Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

    Must demonstrate superior customer focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change throughout the Company and knowledge of our business.

    Must successfully complete all Company compliance training.
