    The Manager, Sustainer Retention and Stewardship ensures that sustainer acquisition, conversion, retention, and upgrade strategies are executed efficiently, accurately, and with a focus on the donor experience. The Manager works with the Associate Director, Direct Response to identify and execute donor-centric stewardship opportunities across channels.

     

    • Manage and optimize the day-to-day operations of a robust sustainer program, including a rapidly growing Face-to-Face program.
    • Work with Associate Director, Direct Response to implement opportunities for monthly donor stewardship with the goal of cultivating, retaining, and upgrading donors.
    • Regularly evaluate systems and processes to ensure maximum efficiency and revenue with a focus on retention and recovery processes.
    • Ensure excellent quality of the program by regularly monitoring calls, troubleshooting issues, and reviewing all data for accuracy.
    • Review Face-to-Face vendor results to ensure the program is on pace to reach targets.
    • Reconcile invoices and monitor Face-to-Face budget.
    • Implement new retention and recovery techniques as needed.
    • Provide regular analysis and detailed reports on the sustainer program.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 4 years’ experience in direct response fundraising and/or development preferred.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite required; experience with fundraising CRMs required, with Luminate and Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT experience preferred.
    • Must be proactive and a self-starter with excellent problem-solving and implementation skills.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills: ability to maintain strong professional relationships with a range of groups in person and by writing and phone, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
    • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
    • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, and strong presentation skills.
    • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities while coordinating work flow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.
    • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently. 
    • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
