The Arc of Monroe County has been providing a variety of programs and services for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families in the Rochester community for 60 years. The Arc works to enhance the quality of life and self-esteem of people in our programs, providing them with meaningful social development, supported employment, residential community living and enrichment opportunities. The Arc has 40 locations in Monroe County that assist people with intellectual and/or other developmental disabilities such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Asperger Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorders among others.

Required Skills
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Access to reliable and timely transportation to ensure they can get to sites to provide back-up coverage.
Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/1stAid and SCIP-R certification.
COMPUTER SKILLS
BASIC OUTLOOK skills as evidenced by creating and sending messages, working with address books, message handling, creating and using personal folders, scheduling appointments, working with meeting requests and managing tasks.
BASIC MICROSOFT WORD skills as evidenced by the ability to produce basic business letters and simple tables and charts; as well as check spelling, set tabs, change page orientation, sort, save, open and organize electronic files.
BASIC EXCEL skills as evidenced by the ability to use workbooks, create simple formulas, insert and delete data, create and edit charts, filter and sort lists, and format data.
OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to utilize telecommunication technology (telephone, email and internet) in a professional and efficient manner.
Must efficiently perform basic mathematical calculations.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision and generate creative process improvement ideas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in business, secretarial science or related discipline; plus two years’ experience in a clerical position or the equivalent combination of experience and education deemed necessary to perform the core responsibilities of the role.
