WHAT DOES A TAX PREPARER DO?
A Tax Preparer is an accounting professional who calculates and files federal, state and local tax returns for individuals or businesses. As a Tax Preparer, you would be responsible for building a relationship with the clients you work with in order to be able to assist with any tax related job or issue that they may have. We do this by providing detailed training for our employees (Tuition free tax school) so that they can provide a confident and exceptional experience to all clients that come in our doors.
TAX PREPARER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS?
Tax Preparers use their natural customer service skills, along with technical abilities and industry knowledge provided through our Tuition Free Tax Schools to ensure returns are on-time, complete, and accurate. At the end of your training, You will have:
· In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations and deadlines
· Proficiency with common tax preparation and word processing as applicable
· Familiarity with the tax return transmission and acknowledgement process, including how to navigate the IRS online platform
· Excellent customer service skills, including patience and flexibility
· Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Keen attention to detail, A small mistake can create a large issue!

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
If you join our rapidly growing team for tax season you will have the opportunity to help others, learn new skills, gain experience in an office setting, and do it all in a low stress environment. At Liberty Tax you will be taught everything you need to know to be able to register as a licensed tax preparer with an IRS recognized Identification Number and prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses. Through these skills you will also be taught how work in a professional office setting, how to process sensitive client information, and how to organize paperwork and job responsibilities to develop a strong business/accounting acumen while completing projects and tasks by specific deadlines. Not to mention, Tax preparation is something you will either need to learn to do, or pay someone else to do for the rest of your working life, so why not invest in yourself and your future?
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for students or professionals who are interested in learning Tax law and Regulations/qualifications for the purpose of preparing Tax Returns for individuals and local businesses that will, in turn, increase the individuals accounting acumen and overall professional knowledge base. You don’t have to have any prior knowledge or experience in this industry, we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful with our company. We pride ourselves in using our knowledge to help our clients and the community of people that surround our offices and we want someone that is going to further that mission in our offices with the same passion we have.
WHAT IS THE ROLE?
Our industry is Seasonal, we start our Tuition Free Tax School in October until mid December, We hire out of our training classes (If you finish the class, pass the certification testing, then you will be offered a job) and then we staff our offices January through April of Every year. If you are a student, we have flexible hours and availability and our working season aligns perfectly with Winter Semester/Quarter for most colleges and running start programs in the State of Washington.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Starting in October, we will be hosting multiple morning and evening classes for our 10-Week, Tuition Free Tax School. Anyone interested in working in our offices will need to attend the training classes or be able to pass our certifications if you have enough prior experience that the class is not necessary or if you believe that is the case, Please contact us at 425.271.8598.
