    Customs Brokerage Manager TCRS4586

     

    HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

    The Customs Brokerage Manager plays a pivotal role in managing all import and export operations while ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and international trade regulations. This position combines operational expertise in customs brokerage with compliance leadership to maintain accurate, efficient, and lawful trade activities.

    The role acts as the primary liaison between customs authorities, carriers, clients, and internal departments to drive smooth trade operations, effective risk mitigation, and a culture of regulatory compliance.

    This is a REMOTE PART TIME position.

     

    EXPECTATIONS

    • Maintain the corporate Customs Brokerage License with CBP
    • Prepare and submit accurate import and export declarations
    • Build the brokerage department procedures, processes, and training
    • Manage HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, duty payment, free trade agreements
    • Audit import/export transactions for accuracy and recordkeeping compliance
    • Provide training & guidance on procedures and regulatory obligations
    • Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure timely cargo handling and document flow
    • Manage end-to-end import brokerage responsibilities, including P&L
    • Create KPIs to monitor company and team’s brokerage performance and compliance
    • Stay up to date on import/export regulations, industry trends to incorporate into trade processes
    • Advise clients on risk mitigation practices and duty optimization strategies

     

    ESSENTIALS

    • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance and brokerage
    • Licensed Customs Broker required
    • In depth knowledge of import & export process with CBP and other government agencies
    • Solid understanding with HTS Classification, Country of Origin, FTA, Valuation methods, and AD/CVD
    • Experience being corporate license holder from application to maintenance
    • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
    • Proficiency with customs and logistics management systems such as CargoWise
    • Understanding of EAR, ITAR, and OFAC frameworks
