    Position Requirements – Behavioral Health Clinician

    Location: Dunham US Army Health Clinic, Carlisle Barracks, PA

    Education

    The employee must have a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field.

    They must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

    They must be approved to provide personal counseling services.

    Experience

    Must have at least 5 years of clinical counseling experience after earning the Master’s degree.

    Experience must include working with adults, children, individuals, and families.

    2 years of post-Master’s experience may be accepted if it was in a military setting or with military families.

    Licensure

    Must have a valid and unrestricted license based on state laws.

    Other Requirement

    Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

    LCSW Job duties: Behavioral Health Clinician Duties – Dunham US Army Health Clinic

    Clinical Behavioral Health Services The Candidate shall provide a comprehensive range of behavioral health services in accordance with MTF protocols. This includes crisis intervention, risk and safety assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and development of treatment plans. Services will include individual, group, and family psychotherapy, as well as preparation of written treatment plans outlining goals, interventions, and timelines.

    Documentation and Records Management The Candidate shall maintain detailed clinical documentation, including treatment plans, discharge summaries, and peer reviews. All entries must be accurately recorded in the electronic medical record systems (CHCS/AHLTA) within 72 hours of patient interaction.

    Ongoing Patient Care The Candidate shall deliver ongoing therapeutic interventions during scheduled appointments and shall ensure continuity of care by monitoring patient conditions for potential crises or life-threatening issues, reporting safety concerns immediately to supervisors.

    Interdisciplinary Collaboration The Candidate will engage in direct coordination and collaboration with healthcare professionals, paraprofessionals, and interdisciplinary team members to support total patient care, ensuring integrated and effective treatment delivery.

    Emergency and Safety Procedures The Candidate must be capable of initiating emergency measures and alerting medical providers as needed. They will also identify and mitigate safety hazards related to equipment, procedures, and patient care environments.

    Regulatory Compliance and SOP Adherence The Candidate shall strictly follow all Standard Operating Procedures, MEDCOM policies, Joint Commission standards, and relevant regulations. They must also participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.

    Administrative and Operational Duties The Candidate is responsible for completing necessary forms, reports, and administrative documentation accurately and promptly. They must independently carry out routine assignments without needing detailed guidance from a supervisor.

    Training and Continuous Improvement The Candidate shall participate in in-service training sessions, performance evaluations, patient staffings, utilization reviews, and improvement initiatives aligned with the clinic’s and JC's standards.
