    Licensed Clinical Social Worker – TEMP POSITION – Disaster Shelter Support

     Location: Georgia (City TBD)

    Job Summary:

    The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is responsible for providing discharge and clinical services for on-site clinic health units/shelters or events for Government contracts for rapid deployments to support emergency and disaster efforts. This is a temporary position, and the length of the assignment may vary based on operational needs and client requirements. This position reports to the designated Site Lead at the on-site clinic health unit/shelter.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct care to patients within the discipline of the Scope of Practice and perform functions following current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing, and or granted privileges.
    • Coordinate discharge planning and processes for individuals ready to be released back to the public or medical care facilities.
    • Provide treatment of people throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.
    • Prepare to be expected to respond to and or coordinate responses to medical emergencies.
    • Assess and evaluate the mental health of residents and refer to outside treatment facilities if necessary.
    • Provide written evaluation reports on the mental health status of individuals.
    • Provide weekly reports/updates on an individual.
    • Provide brief counseling, psychotherapy, behavioral analysis, and substance abuse education.
    • Provide mental health treatment to individuals who present with signs/symptoms of sexual or physical assault, abuse, and/or neglect using the multidisciplinary approach.
    • Provide mental health treatment to individuals presenting signs/symptoms of suicidal, dangerous, or psychotic behaviors.
    • Provide post-discharge follow-up for individuals returning from inpatient mental health treatment.
    • Serve as the suicide prevention program coordinator.
    • Possess a high level of skill in assessing, recognizing, and treating behavioral or other mental health conditions that interfere with successful treatment.
    • Serve as a mental health consultant to other health professionals at the facility.
    • Assist the local performance improvement coordinator in the completion of clinical performance improvement activities/risk identification, and management directly related to mental health healthcare in countries worldwide.
    • Perform record-keeping functions following program policies and procedures.
    • Maintain functional proficiency and ease of use utilizing electronic health records as required by, and appropriate to, position.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and confidentiality of medical records, in compliance with the Privacy Act and HIPAA regulations in all work activities.
    • Other duties as assigned.




    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
    • Current, full, and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Georgia or active Georgia certification or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact is required.
    • Minimum of 1 yr. of experience required.
    • Experience with discharge planning, processes where patient(s) receives necessary assistance once released to the proper environment, while they recuperate.
    • This position requires the candidate to practice independently according to the state in which they are licensed.
    • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency with computers and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
    • Location of services may at times be in remote, austere, or challenging environments.
    • Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment without limitations.
    • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Mental Health Crisis Certified preferred

    Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

    • The position will require walking, standing, or sitting for periods of up to or beyond 10 to 12 hours each day.
    • Under urgent or emergency situations, the incumbent may need to run, sprint, or run up or down stairs.
    • May require bending, stooping, and lifting to 40+ lbs. as required for patient care and transport.
    • May require working overtime when necessary.
    • Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.

    Each applicant interested in supporting GA will need to deploy and arrive at the designated site 24 - 48 hours from the time of notice. Each applicant will need to complete their onboarding packet. It is uncertain as to the locations where personnel will be needed, but they will be located at a staging area established by State agencies in various regions of the state.
