Your Role as Counselor
As a Counselor, you will serve as a cornerstone of our mission, guiding individuals through their recovery journey with hope and optimism, expertise, and encouragement. You will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where your voice is valued and your impact is tangible.
Key Responsibilities
Assess & Diagnose: Conduct biopsychosocial evaluations and diagnose utilizing DSM-5 criteria.
Plan for Success: Collaborate with clients to create and refine individualized treatment plans.
Lead with Compassion: Facilitate individual counseling sessions and group therapy to foster healing and peer support.
Educate & Empower: Lead engaging psychoeducational groups focused on addiction, coping skills, relapse prevention, and life strategies.
Apply Proven Methods: Employ evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, and mindfulness, to support meaningful change.
Manage Cases with Care: Monitor client progress, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and connect clients to essential resources.
Document with Integrity: Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with ethical standards.
Respond in Crisis: Offer immediate support during relapses or mental health emergencies and develop comprehensive safety plans.
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred. Must hold one of the following licenses: LPC, LCSW, LIAC, LAC, or LAAC.
Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. Familiarity with ASAM criteria and evidence-based treatment modalities. Excellent communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills. Proficient in crisis management and well-organized in managing caseloads.
Mindset: Approach every client with empathy and without judgment. Believe in recovery and the resilience of the human spirit. Value diversity and practice cultural competence. Commit to lifelong learning and professional growth.
