About the Role:

Lake James Electric LLC is looking for a skilled Licensed Gas Contractor to join our team in Morganton, NC, specializing in generator installations. Responsibilities:

Install, connect, and test natural gas and propane lines for residential and commercial standby generators

Ensure all gas piping installations meet local, state, and national code requirements

Coordinate with electricians and other trades to complete generator installation projects efficiently

Perform pressure testing and leak detection on newly installed gas lines

Obtain necessary permits and schedule inspections with local authorities

Troubleshoot and service existing gas supply systems related to generator equipment

Maintain accurate job documentation, including as-built drawings and inspection records

Requirements:

Valid North Carolina Licensed Gas Contractor license required

Experience with natural gas and LP gas piping systems for generator applications

Working knowledge of NC State Building Code and NFPA 54/58 gas codes

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and site plans

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and code compliance

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
