About Movement Med
Movement Med Chicago is a Pilates-based medical fitness studio specializing in spinal health, post-rehabilitation care, and performance-focused movement. We work with clients navigating chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and other complex movement-related challenges.
Our approach blends Pilates, movement therapy, and hands-on care in a collaborative, education-driven environment. We are looking for a Licensed Massage Therapist who wants to work in a clinical, movement-focused setting—not a traditional spa environment.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a massage therapist who wants to do thoughtful, outcome-oriented work with clients who need more than relaxation massage alone.
You may be a strong fit if you:
Think beyond relaxation massage
Enjoy working with clients with orthopedic issues or chronic conditions
Value communication, assessment, and collaboration
Are interested in integrating massage with movement, recovery, and corrective exercise
In this role, you will work closely with our Pilates instructors and medical fitness professionals to support meaningful client outcomes.

Work with clients experiencing chronic pain, postural dysfunction, spinal conditions, and post-rehabilitation needs
Adapt pressure, technique, and treatment goals based on presentation and response
Communicate findings and collaborate with the Movement Med team
Maintain clear, professional documentation and session notes
Educate clients on recovery, body awareness, and self-care strategies
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois Massage Therapy License
Strong understanding of anatomy and movement
Ability to work safely and effectively with clients in pain or with medical conditions
Excellent communication skills and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in clinical, rehabilitation, or sports-based settings
Training in one or more of the following:
Myofascial release
Neuromuscular therapy
Trigger point therapy
Orthopedic massage
Interest in Pilates, movement therapy, or rehabilitation
Experience collaborating with physical therapists, trainers, or other movement professionals
Schedule
Part-time to start, with room to grow
Flexible scheduling
Some evening and weekend availability preferred
Compensation
Pay ranges from $45.00–$65.00 per hour. Competitive hourly or session-based pay based on experience, with strong earning potential in a specialized medical fitness setting. Compensation may vary based on experience, session volume, and performance.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn't a spa job focused on volume or upselling. It’s an opportunity to do thoughtful, clinically relevant work in a collaborative community of care. At Movement Med, you’ll work with clients over time—not just for a single session—so you can build meaningful therapeutic relationships and see real progress. You’ll collaborate with Pilates instructors and movement professionals, work with complex orthopedic and post-rehabilitation cases, and continue growing your skills through mentorship, continuing education, and in-house training in rehab-focused protocols that can make you a stronger care provider.
For practitioners who develop a full-time client load, Movement Med may explore additional benefits, including paid time off and other benefits, as the role grows.
