About the Role:

Dr. Mae Sheikh Ali Endocrine Center in Jacksonville, FL is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our specialized healthcare team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting patients navigating the emotional and psychological challenges that often accompany endocrine and chronic health conditions.

Responsibilities:

Provide individual therapy and counseling sessions to patients dealing with mental health concerns related to chronic illness and endocrine disorders

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalized treatment plans

Collaborate with physicians, endocrinologists, and medical staff to deliver integrated, whole-patient care

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards

Offer crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed

Support patients in developing coping strategies, stress management skills, and behavioral health goals

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations

Requirements:

Active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in the state of Florida

Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field

Experience providing individual therapy in a clinical or medical setting preferred

Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, or motivational interviewing

Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical team

Excellent communication, empathy, and patient-centered care skills

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
