We are actively seeking a compassionate Mental Health Therapist for our clinic who is committed to therapeutic excellence for our patients. You will be responsible for doing diagnostic assessments, making customized treatment plans with goals and objectives, providing crisis intervention as needed, and following up with patients to ensure they are receiving appropriate ongoing care. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of clinical experience working with mental health patients, as well as a current LMHC (licensed mental health counselor, LPC, LCSW, LMFT) license. We are a collaborative group specializing in OCD and related anxiety disorders. We would ask that the provider is open to training in OCD treatment and ongoing consultation with Andrea Alvarez, LPC-S, the owner of AMA Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, we ask that the clinician be open to seeing children. Typically, our full-time clinicians have a hybrid schedule with 3 in-office days and 1 virtual day. Our office is located in the Shavano Park area. We have on-site admin staff who are in the office typically 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00 am-2:00 pm on Fridays to assist and manage scheduling and billing, and anything in between. We offer benefits! • Health/vision/dental • 401(k) matching • Paid time off • Outstanding company culture • Training/education Responsibilities: • Determine the status of patients mental health by using medical information, interviews, observation, and testing, as well as collaboration with other staff members • Assist with intervention for patients when a crisis occurs • Develop specific therapy plans with goals and objectives for individual patients • Refer patients and family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary • Evaluate patients’ circumstances on a regular basis and provide necessary follow-up care • Performs initial evaluations of client needs and develops customized treatment plans based on client diagnosis • Provides individuals, couples, families, and/or groups with the resources they need to reach personal goals • Conducts therapeutic sessions using evidence-based practices, beginning and ending on time • Monitors client progress and modifies their treatment plans as needed • Completes continuing education courses to maintain professional licensure set by the state • Stays up to date on the latest evidence-based treatments • Adheres to ethical guidelines set forth by the profession by state, national, and HIPAA • Availability for at least 25-30 client hours as a full-time clinician • Maintains documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, within two weeks of conducting a therapeutic session • Applies strong and positive communication skills when interfacing with clients, peer clinicians, and office support • Practices within the scope of knowledge Qualifications: • This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a bachelor’s degree in a field such as counseling or social work; we prefer a master’s degree • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting working as a mental health therapist • Aligned with AMA Behavioral Therapy values, missions, and culture • Fully licensed LPC, LCSW, or LMFT with a master’s degree in mental health counseling (LMHC) or equivalent • Knowledge and application of ethical guidelines, including state, professional, and federal guidelines • Two years or more of experience providing psychotherapy using evidence-based treatment • Knowledge and application of HIPAA and confidentiality • Experience with computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, the internet, and electronic medical record software • Knowledge of and experience applying HIPAA and principles of confidentiality • Interest in working in a practice that supports individuals who are experiencing emotional challenges • Experience in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders • Skilled in facilitating sessions with individuals, groups, or families of varying ages of interest • Displayed empathy for clients with the ability to suspend judgment • Experience adhering to all professional, ethical, and legal regulations as determined by relevant regulatory bodies and the law The ideal AMA Behavioral Therapy Therapist will also have the following: • Theoretical Orientation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy • Interest in learning anxiety-based disorders such as OCD, BFRBs, PTSD, Social Anxiety, and General Anxiety • Experience working in a private practice • Interest in training in OCD treatment and ongoing consultation. • Open to seeing children 5+ Compensation: $45 - $50 hourly
