Position Summary
The Licensed Mental Health Therapist provides direct clinical care to clients across various levels of need while upholding Mindful Healing Works’ standards of excellence, ethics, and compassion. This role involves delivering evidence-based interventions, maintaining documentation in accordance with agency and Medicaid requirements, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure clients receive comprehensive, person-centered care. The ideal candidate is passionate about making mental health care accessible to underserved populations, enjoys working within a supportive team environment, and values ongoing growth and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
Provide individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy using evidence-based modalities aligned with client needs.
Conduct diagnostic assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and ethical standards.
Monitor progress toward treatment goals, adjust interventions as needed, and ensure continuity of care.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and other staff to support holistic treatment planning.
Utilize crisis intervention skills and risk assessments when necessary to ensure client safety and stabilization.
Collaboration & Team Engagement
Participate in weekly clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
Engage with interns and support their learning in alignment with The Academy Internship Program when applicable.
Contribute to a positive, growth-oriented, and inclusive team culture.
Communicate effectively with referral sources, families, and community partners as needed to coordinate care.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain compliance with documentation, billing, and ethical standards.
Adhere to all agency policies, HIPAA, and professional licensing board requirements.
Participate in audits, outcome tracking, and performance improvement initiatives as requested.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
Independent clinical licensure (LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent) in Maryland required.
Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care.
Experience working with diverse populations and those receiving Medicaid-funded services.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in community mental health or outpatient settings.
Familiarity with therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or mindfulness-based interventions.
Interest in mentoring emerging clinicians or participating in internship program development.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative and evolving clinical environment.
