Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Our client is in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida and looking for qualified professionals to join their team! They are a well-established non-profit that brings much-needed services to the community.
The Position: Our client is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join their established team in the St. Petersburg area. They are offering the following compensation and benefits:
- $43,000 – $54,000 per year

Requirements:
- Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program
- Two years of experience working with Mental Health population
- Substance Abuse / Behavioral / Mental Health experience preferred
- Must be 21 years of age
- Computer literate
- Negative drug screening prior to hire and throughout employment
- Clear criminal background check prior to hire and throughout employment, including local, state, and DCF Level II background screening
- Fingerprinting required; must be determined to be of good moral character
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Reliable vehicle with valid registration and insurance in compliance with Florida laws
Responsibilities:
- Mon–Fri (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Manages medication line in an appropriate time frame
- Monitors for side effects and informs medical staff if present
- Refers clients attending injection clinic for medication visits and updated MSE at appropriate intervals
- Orders medications and supplies
- Makes lab slips and maintain lab and supplies
- Maintains Biohazard Materials; disposes of same according to OSHA standards
- Comply with established nursing practices and procedures and adheres to Center policies/procedures
- Perform duties in a manner that does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of employees or others
- Accomplishes individual goals set forth in previous evaluation
- Peer review results within acceptable agency standards
- Answer Medline and respond to client requests for medications
- Manage Zyprexa Relprev group including observation and coordination of transport by Case Management Aides (CMA)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Writes and files progress notes for all injection and lab work in a timely manner
- Performs injections during scheduled injection groups
- Serves clients in a warm, accepting, and respectful manner
- Encourages client involvement and independence
- Acts as liaison for medical staff meetings as indicated
- May provide community consultation and education services
- Auditing results within acceptable agency standards
- Obtain training relevant to the role
