Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Reno, NV
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports the health and wellness needs of students by providing quality nursing care under the supervision of a physician, mid-level provider, or Registered Nurse (RN). The LPN is responsible for promoting good health, preventing illness, and delivering care in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions:
- Provide treatment for minor injuries and illnesses according to physician or provider instructions and in line with healthcare guidelines.
- Conduct initial medical examination for students within their first 24 hours at the center.
- Clean and dress wounds, operate emergency medical equipment, and provide appropriate follow-up care as required.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Monitor and care for students on bed rest within the health and wellness center.
- Accurately document all care provided in student health records and maintain records in an organized, confidential manner.
- Assist with designated health services special programs as assigned by the HWM or provider.
- Support physicians or mid-level healthcare providers as needed during examinations, procedures, or treatments.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment that reflects high standards of care and professionalism.
- Deliver positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
- Foster the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and providing intervention when necessary.
- Maintain accountability for students and property, adhering to all safety and security practices.
- Help cultivate and maintain a respectful, harassment-free climate that supports a safe and productive environment for both staff and students.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
- Prior experience in adolescent, educational, or institutional healthcare settings (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to upholding high standards of care, safety, and ethical conduct
Pay - $27.10 - $33.79 per hour
