    The Position :

    We’re looking for a Lidar Technician to process Imagery and LiDAR data from terrestrial, UAV, Airborne, and Space based platforms. They are expected to manage production workflows, perform QA/QC and generate deliverables for end customers.

    This is a full-time position with a complete benefit package.

    Responsibilities :

    • Process Imagery and LiDAR from a variety of industry leading sensors
    • Integrate ground control into Imagery and LiDAR to produce high accuracy products
    • Produce deliverables that meet the requirements of the customer and the high-quality standards of CompassData, Inc.
    • Download and QA/QC raw Imagery and LiDAR data from our field crews and vendors
    • QA/QC processed data at each phase of production to ensure accuracy and quality standards meet specifications
    • Document production workflows
    • Opportunity for field work using GPS equipment and other remote sensing sensors including aircraft, UAV, mobile, and backpack-based systems.
    • Prepare daily time sheets and data logs

    Desired Experience and Skills

    • 2 or 4 year degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, or a related field
    • Minimum 1 year experience in geospatial industry
    • Minimum 1 year of Imagery/LiDAR Processing experience
    • Experience in a production mapping environment
    • Familiarity with data integration techniques for remote sensing, photogrammetry, and GIS datasets
    • Strong understanding of Imagery/LiDAR acquisition methods, data formats, and classification techniques
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at different phases of production
    • Strong problem-solving skills working in a team or independently
    • Ability to perform quality control checks on large datasets and ensure data consistency
    • Excellent analytical and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

    Recommended Tools and Software Experience :

    • GNSS/INS Georeferencing Software
    • LiDAR Processing Software
    • Imagery Processing Software
    • TerraSolid Terrascan
    • GlobalMapper Pro
    • ESRI ArcGIS Pro
    • Trimble Business Center
    • Autodesk Civil3D
    • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages for data automation and processing is a plus.

    The Location: CompassData Inc. is based in Englewood, CO. off I-25 and County Line Rd. This is an office-based role; however, we may consider a remote arrangement for the right candidate.

    Pay Range: $25 - $35 per hour (Rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant)
