    ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    As Life-Assist Assistant Purchasing Manager, you will work with the Purchasing Team to provide support in directing workflow in the department and assign tasks and responsibilities daily.

    The Assistant Purchasing Manager (AM) is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the department and overall job function coverage within department. They will ensure all product ordering and follow-up is accurate and up to date. Assist Purchasing Manager in department projects.

    SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Act in place of manager for Purchasing Team when the manager is not available.
    • Fills in wherever needed in the department to provide adequate coverage.
    • Assist in assignment and follows up on daily tasks.
    • Place Purchase Orders and monitors stock for all warehouses as necessary.
    • Correspond with and maintain good relations with vendors.
    • Assist Purchasing Team with questions and problems.
    • Monitors backordered items and researches alternatives.
    • Monitors and ensures accuracy in purchasing.
    • Assists in monitoring minimum stock levels for each warehouse and adjusts appropriately.
    • Coordinates with Contracts & Products to source alternative items.
    • Monitor vendor purchase requirements, rebates, and incentives.
    • Review Distributor Agreements and Terms in collaboration with Purchasing Manager.

    QUALITY MANAGEMENT:

    • Maintain high quality levels of accuracy and timeliness.
    • Ensure all company and department protocols are followed.
    • Follow all regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor inventory levels and expirations to ensure quality and reduce waste.

    DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT:

    • Assist in training and oversight of personnel.
    • Communicate regularly with team members.
    • Inspire team members to use Life-Assist’s Core Values as a guideline in their decision making.
    • Collaborate with team regularly to improve processes.

    WHO ARE YOU?

    • BS/BA preferred and or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • California Designated Representative a plus.
    • 5+ years industry related experience.
    • Ability to learn and master processes/systems quickly
    • Highly committed to learning the products, services and solutions we offer
    • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors and co-workers
    • Organized with a high level of attention to detail
    • Actively looks for opportunities to improve processes and gain efficiency
    • Respond to customer requests promptly and effectively
    • Value honesty and recognize the impact we have on others
    • Thrives working in a team-oriented environment
    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office software suite
