We are seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to help bring joy and purpose to daily living by supporting the Life Enrichment Director in planning, coordinating, and facilitating social, cognitive, and wellness-focused programs. This role is essential in promoting dignity, quality of life, and holistic well-being for our residents while ensuring compliance with Title 22 RCFE activity regulations.
The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of a monthly calendar of activities that meet diverse physical and cognitive needs. Responsibilities include leading or co-leading group programs such as arts, music, exercise, games, and spiritual services, while also providing personalized one-on-one engagement for residents who may require additional support. This role helps coordinate on-site and off-site events, manages setup and cleanup, and ensures activities are delivered in a safe and welcoming environment.
This position collaborates closely with dietary, health, and administrative teams to integrate programs into daily routines and plays a key role in organizing large-scale events such as holiday celebrations and themed gatherings. The Life Enrichment Assistant also assists with volunteer engagement and ensures all activity spaces are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Accurate documentation of attendance, observations, and any behavioral or psychosocial changes is required, with timely communication to the Life Enrichment Coordinator and Health & Wellness Team.
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to engage with residents in a compassionate and respectful manner. Previous experience in recreational therapy, senior engagement, or activity planning is preferred, along with an understanding of dementia care and aging-related needs. Employment requirements include TB clearance, health screening (LIC 503), fingerprinting (LIC 508), First Aid and CPR certification, and completion of Level 1 Caregiver training. Candidates must also meet physical requirements, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30 pounds, and assist residents during activities.
