The Life Skills Preschool is a special needs program servicing students throughout New York City. Our mission is to provide structure and support for children to develop to their full potential, respect the diversity and unique contributions of all, offer instruction that is individualized and developmentally appropriate, promote a child-centered, safe and supportive environment, engage parents, the community and school members in a collaborative team-approach, and to inspire a lifetime to learning. We are seeking a Full-time Special Education Teacher for a preschool class. NYS Teacher Certification preferred however well qualified candidates enrolled in an accredited Masters program in Early Childhood can also apply. We can assist you in attaining a NYS Teacher Certification and provide tuition assistance/reimbursement as well as a sign on bonus! Duties include: Duties may include in-person teaching and classroom management. Teachers are charged with taking daily attendance, creating student quarterly reports & annual reports, maintain ongoing contact with families, implementing curriculum and common core, differentiate instruction and environment for individual student needs delegate classroom responsibilities to classroom assistants, attend weekly teacher meetings, attend team meetings with therapists and curriculum coordinator We offer an excellent compensation package with benefits including medical, dental, vision, profit sharing pension plan, 403B, annual merit based bonus.
