Seeking: Part or Full Time Academic Life Coach

We are looking for part-time or full time Academic Life Coaches to help teens earn better grades with less stress by developing the mindset, organization, time management, and study skills they need to excel in school.

Life Success For Teens is an academic life coaching company in the Cleveland, OH area, which was founded in 2016.

In addition to coaching middle, high school, and college students in person, we also offer virtual coaching sessions and  workshops in the Cleveland, OH area.

Our coaching practice has been growing steadily over the past three years. We are excited to add energetic, motivated coaches to our team to help us to provide outstanding results to our students and their families.

This position is for you if you are:

    • AWESOME at connecting with, motivating, and inspiring teenagers!
    • A college graduate with a background in education or academic coaching.
    • Located in the Cleveland, OH area, and able to meet with students virtually or in person.
    • Available to work at least least 4-6 hours/week, after school or on weekends.
    • An optimist by nature, who is always able to see the bright side in any situation, and inspires others with your positive energy & enthusiasm.
    • Incredibly patient, even with "difficult" teenagers who are trying their best to push all your buttons. ;)
    • Someone that exudes positive energy, who enjoys interacting with others and goes above & beyond to make sure their student feels heard and understood.
    • Super-organized and efficient...you're the kind of person who gets a thrill out of visiting the Container Store, and writes things down on your to-do list even after you've done them, just for the fun of checking them off!
    • A fantastic listener, with an amazing ability to keep your cool in the middle of a conflict, see both sides to every situation, and help people solve their own problems without telling them what to do.
    • Excited by the idea of being part of a small, growing business that has a positive impact on the lives of students and their families, and helps young adults in reaching their full potential (you want to feel like your work is making a difference in the world!)
    • Able to commit to this position for at least two years.

    The Position...

You'll join our team as an independent contractor, and will be working directly with our founder and lead coach to learn how to effectively coach students to become the best versions of themselves.

As an Academic Life Coach, you will have an opportunity to make a positive difference in the day-to-day lives of students and their families by empowering teens to develop the time management, organization, study skills, and mindset they need to reach their goals.

Examples of your responsibilities will include:

    • Meeting with students for weekly sessions online or in person (at coffee shops or libraries).

    • Sending out session summary reports to students & parents after each meeting.

    • Checking in with students by text or email between sessions.

    • Meeting with parents for check-in calls to discuss students' progress.

    • Monitoring students' grades online.

    • Reaching out to students' teachers, counselors, and/or tutors, as needed.

    • Attending regular team meetings & training sessions.

    Training:

LSFT requires that coaches be trained in the Anti Boring Approach to Studying (see gretchenwegner.com for more information) There is a cost associated with this training. Afterwards, there will be a paid training period for new coaches, during which you will work closely with our founder and lead coach to learn the ins and outs of leading students through the coaching process.

After this training period, you will have the freedom to coordinate a mutually agreeable time to meet with your students, and adjust the days you work to fit your schedule. We typically meet with students in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
