    LifeEDIT is an early stage biotech company based in RTP, NC that is discovering novel gene editing systems from a proprietary microbial collection and using them to develop next-generation therapeutics. LifeEDIT has several undisclosed relationships and will undergo significant expansion in the next 18 months.

    • Key Responsibilities:
      • Mammalian cell culture and gene editing  
      • Develop and improve mammalian genome editing strategies for novel genome editing proteins 
      • Develop assays to tie genotype changes to phenotype changes
      • Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings
    • Required Qualifications:
      • Bachelor degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or equivalent discipline with 1-2 years of hands-on relevant research experience or Master's degree.
      • Experience with molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, vector design, Gibson Assembly)
      • Experience with mammalian cell culture
      • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
      • Ability to work independently as well as contribute actively to a team
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Hands on experience using genome editing tools
      • NGS Library Preparation and genomic data analysis
      • Flow cytometry experience
      • Primary cell culture handling and expansion
      • Protein engineering techniques
      • Knowledge of recombinant expression and purification (affinity / chromatography)

    Anticipated start date is October 15
