    ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

    POSITION TYPE: Full Time

    CAMPUS: Central

    REPORTS TO: Senior Staff Accountant

    Summary

    Work Environment: Mostly office environment but does require remote work at campus locations on occasion. This position works on weekdays and sometimes requires odd, non-business hours for holiday services, emergencies, and extenuating circumstances.

    Position Description

    • Monitor and manage all incoming AP correspondence, including Accounting AP inbox

    • Follow up with vendors on invoice inquiries and discrepancies

    • Ensure timeliness of vendor payments based on terms and contractual agreements

    • Maintain accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and AP files

    • Effectively manage multiple email addresses and calendars to streamline communication

    • Process departmental staff requests including check requests, invoices, and assistance with Divvy, Bill.com and/or Church Community Builder.

    • Help support donors with giving statements and processing donations

    • Help maintain and improve standard operating procedures

    • Provide administrative support to various Accounting and Finance functions

    • Manage 1099 contractors and W9 documents for a tax-exempt organization

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Knowledge of the practices, methods, and software utilized in accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

    • Knowledge of accounting practices and protocol related to checks and balance procedures

    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

    • Capable of coordinating multiple tasks and adjusting to the changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and scheduling of a growing church

    • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take initiative

    • Ability to multitask in a challenging environment, balance competing priorities and tight deadlines, work under pressure and remain flexible

    • Must be able to use discretion and always maintain confidentiality

    • Demonstrate sound judgment in decision making

    • Understanding of and alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the church

    • Must be integral and committed to living a public life that is founded in Christ and above reproach

    • Sit for 6 or more hours at a time.

    • Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as a computer keyboard, mouse, and similar machines.

    • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs

    and moving your whole body, such as bending, lifting, balancing, walking,

    stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling of equipment.

    • Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 50 pounds occasionally may be required.

    • Ability to travel by car to/from LifeFamily campuses, church house and venues.

    • Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long

    periods of time (60 minutes or more).

    • Visual abilities required.

    ● Monday-Friday 9:00 am-4:30 pm

    ● Participate in church services and events as needed
