The Ocean Community YMCA is seeking a safety-focused, team-oriented Lifeguard Coordinator to lead and support our lifeguard team. This leadership role oversees hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of lifeguards while ensuring a safe, welcoming aquatics environment for all members. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguard staff
• Ensure compliance with YMCA safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Conduct in-service trainings and emergency drills
• Maintain certifications and staff training records
• Serve as a visible leader on deck, modeling YMCA core values
• Perform lifeguard duties as scheduled

Qualifications:

• Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications
• Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• 3–5 years aquatics experience
• Experience supervising or leading staff
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
