    HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST – POSTING #21-047                    

    MAJOR DUTIES:

    The Human Resources Specialist works closely with the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for delivering recruiting and retention success throughout the organization. The Specialist sources, screens, hires, and retains qualified professionals to meet the business needs using knowledge of industry trends and creative recruiting ideas. The Specialist develops relationships with staff, applicants, community partners, schools, third party recruiters and other referral sources to assess open needs, successful placements, and identifies additional resources. The Specialist is responsible for building a network of qualified candidates, evaluating skills in relation to the position requirements, and overseeing the completion of onboarding and retention requirements. 

    •    Develops and executes recruitment strategies to attract, screen, and hire quality professionals who meet the agencies immediate and projected needs;

    •    Utilizes various recruitment tools and methods to source and attract a pool of qualified and diverse candidates;

    •    Partner with hiring supervisors to determine staffing needs;

    •    Matches and evaluates candidate skills through assisting with screening and in-person and phone interviews with candidates;

    •    Performing reference and background checks to ensure candidates meet required hiring standards for applicable state and federal laws;

    •    Conduct orientation, new hire onboarding, and follow up;

    •    Create, present and track trainings on varying topics as needed;

    •    Making recommendations to company hiring supervisors;

    •    Coordinating interviews with the hiring supervisors as needed;

    •    Following up on the interview process status;

    •    Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved;

    •    Communicating employer information and benefits during screening process;

    •    Staying current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices;

    •    Assist with benefits administration and respond to inquiries regarding benefits, policies, procedures and programs;

    •    Serving as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations;

    •    Completing timely reports on employment activity;

    •    Create employee reports on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis as well as creating special needs reports upon request.

    •    Conducting exit interviews on terminating employees;

    •    Incorporates staff retention strategy into daily routine;

    •    Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •    Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field required;

    o    Bachelor’s degree preferred

    •    Previous  HR experience required;

    o    Previous recruiting experience preferred

    •    Thorough knowledge of confidentiality requirements;

    •    Ability to interface with all levels of an organization and outside vendors;

    •    Attention to detail

    •    Must be a highly organized and self-motivated individual able to handle multiple tasks and 

    •    meet deadlines in a fast paced environment;

    •    Proficient in Microsoft Office;

    •    Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing along with strong computer skills;

    •    Demonstrate the ability to take initiative;

    •    Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situation with professionalism;

    •    Great attendance; and

    •    Ability to work well with others.
