    Job Description:

    As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Lifeline Medical Center, you will play a critical role in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health issues. You will work alongside our multidisciplinary team to provide psychiatric care and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated treatment plans.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health status, including but not limited to reviewing medical histories, performing mental status examinations, and evaluating potential risk factors.
    2. Diagnose psychiatric disorders based on Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) criteria, considering biological, psychological, and social factors.
    3. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, with consideration for the patient's unique needs, preferences, and goals.
    4. Monitor and assess patients' responses to prescribed medications and make necessary adjustments to optimize treatment outcomes, in collaboration with the supervising Psychiatrist and other healthcare providers.
    5. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy, including individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions, to address various psychiatric conditions.
    6. Regularly evaluate patients' progress through follow-up visits, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and documenting all interventions and outcomes accurately.
    7. Collaborate with our team of Psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
    8. Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, potential side effects of medications, and healthy coping strategies.
    9. Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
    10. Adhere to all applicable legal and ethical guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.

    Requirements:

    1. Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program. Current certification as a PMHNP is required.
    2. Valid RN and APRN licenses in the state of Michigan, without any restrictions. Valid DEA License for Michigan.
    3. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an outpatient or community mental health setting.
    4. Experience working with patients of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on child and adolescent psychiatry.
    5. In-depth knowledge of psychiatric assessment, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment modalities for various psychiatric disorders.
    6. Proficiency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and charting purposes.
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
    8. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize patient needs effectively.
    9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and maintain professional boundaries.
    10. Certification and ongoing competence in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
