    FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

    POSITION REPORTS TO: Facilities Maintenance Leader

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will have the primary responsibility of maintaining all facilities, ensuring that the ministry is uninterrupted at LWCC so that we can connect people to God and to one another.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.

    Receive and respond to reports of needed repairs or maintenance issues.

    Perform peer-to-peer inspections on work performed by other maintenance technicians.

    Service, clean and/or supply restrooms.

    Gather and empty trash from all areas.

    Clean building floors by sweeping mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.

    Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

    Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

    Notify Facilities Maintenance Lead concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

    Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

    Clean windows, glass partitions or mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.

    Set up and arrange meeting rooms for church meetings and events.

    Set up, arrange, and break down worship center and meeting rooms.

    Pick up and deliver orders, supplies, and equipment as needed.

    Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies

    Assist in on-the-job-training of newly hired maintenance technicians

    Always maintain safety procedures.

    Be able to respond to events that have HVAC failures.

    Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/equivalent. Prior knowledge in a custodial/janitorial role preferred. Basic understanding of windows-based computer operations. HVAC knowledge preferred. Must be able to work various shifts including weekends. Must have good oral and written communications skills. Must have good interpersonal skills, must be a self-starter and can work without task oriented supervisory oversight. Should have a heart for God and a servant's attitude.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, and some dexterity in operating office equipment. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
