  • Responsibilities

    Lightboard seeks a great freelance designer to join our team. We work with B2B marketing teams to deliver branding, websites, presentations, PDFs, and illustrations. This is a remote position, and we prefer to work with designers in the United States or Canada. 

    We are a no-nonsense design service that delivers quality craftsmanship to established brands like 3M, Autodesk, and GitHub, as well as innovative smaller companies.

    We believe the traditional agency model is fundamentally broken. Our clients don't need a full-service creative agency—they've already developed their strategy and need high-quality design to bring it to life, quickly and efficiently.

    And that's what Lightboard does. 

    We are looking for a well-rounded designer who is strong in layout, composition, and detail-oriented. Illustration or experience with Webflow are major pluses. This is a position where you get to quickly work with a lot of different clients, brands, and styles. Most projects are wrapped up in a week or two, and our collaboration software keeps feedback and assets organized. 

    Attention to detail, dedication to the craft of design, and a positive attitude are a must.  We support our design team with experienced creative services managers, who handle logistic, budget, and strategic issues so our designers can focus on design.

    We don't expect one person to be great at all types of design, and we build a team for each client that matches the skills they'll need. One client might need a lot of presentation design, and another a lot of illustration. We'll build the right team for the project. For examples of the quality of our work, take a look at our portfolio and our Dribbble profile. What you need:

    • Excellent communication and time management skills.
    • Expertise with professional design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
    • Experience with presentation design (PowerPoint and Keynote).
    • Exquisite portfolio of branding, layout, and digital design for modern B2B companies.
    • Enthusiastic attitude and client communication skills. Our customers aren't always right, and we sometimes need to (gently) show them the right path.

    Super-duper bonus points:

    • Experience with light web development (WordPress, Webflow, and email templates).
    • Extraordinary collection of funny cat GIFs.
    • Engaged as a full-time freelancer. We do not work with moonlighting designers.
    • Expertise in starting each item in a bulleted list with the same letter.

    How it works:

    •  10-40hrs per week, working remotely.
    • You usually work with the same set of clients, with our creative services managers handling the logistics 
    • Our account managers manage client feedback and coordination.
    • We have art directors, illustrators, and developers available to help with more complex projects.

    The design world is changing. More companies need design, and they're not turning to agencies or in-house designers.
