Job Title: Youth Basketball Coach and Coordinator
Job Summary: As Youth Basketball Coach and Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing basketball programs for youth participants. This role involves training, coaching, and coordinating all aspects of the program, including skill development, team management, and organizing events. The ideal candidate should have a passion for youth development, strong coaching skills, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for young athletes.
Responsibilities:
· Design and implement age-appropriate basketball training programs for youth participants.
· Focus on fundamental skill development, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive techniques.
· Provide individualized coaching to enhance each player's abilities and understanding of the game.
· Foster a positive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for fellow players, coaches, and opponents.
· Develop and implement game strategies suitable for the age and skill level of the players.
· Plan and coordinate youth basketball events, including tournaments, leagues, and friendly games.
· Collaborate with other coaches, volunteers, and parents to ensure successful event execution.
· Manage logistics such as scheduling, venue arrangements, and equipment preparation.
· Maintain open and effective communication with parents, players, and program stakeholders.
· Provide regular updates on player progress, team activities, and program developments.
· Address concerns or inquiries from parents and players in a timely and professional manner.
· Prioritize player safety and enforce proper training techniques to prevent injuries.
· Create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being of all participants.
Qualifications:
Previous basketball coaching experience.
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
Knowledge of age-appropriate coaching techniques.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Background check clearance.
Education:
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practices and games.
Ability to travel to various locations for events and competitions.
