Li’l Village is looking for passionate Lead Teachers who seek to educate and nurture children. The ideal Lead Teacher is compassionate, dedicated and has a love for working with children. Li’l Village seeks to establish a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where the students, teachers and parents feel valued and a part of a community.

REQUIREMENTS:

• REQUIRED: US Citizenship/Permanent Resident and able to be approved for a Secret security clearance after a comprehensive Federal background investigation.
• REQUIRED: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.
• 2 YEARS OR MORE OF EXPERIENCE teaching within a child-led play and inquiry-based approach to early childhood education
• EXPERIENCE, writing observations of children and developing child portfolios
• Prior experience with a play-based curriculum and Conscious Discipline (social-emotional strategies) preferred
• Ability to lift up to 40 points, engage in repetitive movements (sitting, standing, bending lifting) indoors and outside and sit on the floor for extended periods of time with children.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare children for kindergarten by introducing concepts they will explore further in kindergarten and elementary school.

• Exhibit warmth, emotional stability, and awareness of the emotional needs of children and co-workers.

• Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter.

• Plan and carry out a curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as social-emotional, language & literacy, motor, cognitive, science, and math.

• Organize activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents.

• Develop schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime

• Apply the principals of "Positive Discipline" and "Conflict Resolution"

• Communicate with the director issues regarding children's health, safety, adjustments, and development.

• Keep records of the students; progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents and directors informed about their child's development.

· Collaborates and communicates with other co-workers.

· Prepares the daily classroom environment ensuring it is organized, beautiful and inviting for all children and adults; complies with licensing training regulations and excels accreditation standards

· Develops authentic parent relationships and shares information daily about the child's learning and development with families.

LI’L VILLAGE Child Learning Center is open from 7AM to 6:30PM, Monday through Friday year-round. TEACHERS MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO WORK AN 8-HOUR SHIFT BETWEEN 7AM AND 6:30PM.

COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS:

· All staff members are required to wear a mask inside of the facility. All mobile children and staff are required to bring a pair of indoor and outdoor shoes. We have re-written our health and safety protocols based on CDC/DSS guidance and requirements.
