    Job Description

Limetree is a behavioral marketing company with a vision to reveal the humanity in marketing and make it better

Are you a data scientist curious about what makes “great communication” that goes out according to all those models you build? Do you wonder if marketers and leaders know what make creative “great” and how it could be made “better”? You might “test and learn” on your creative, but do you even know if you’re testing and learning in the right direction? Is there a universe test for creative? Answering these questions, across all phases of a customer’s lifecycle, are the core of Limetree’s mission.

Limetree is looking to expand our team with an experienced full time Data Scientist to help us extract human insights from data…insights that inform the communications that go to our clients for marketing, retention, and other communication.  We expect our Data Scientists to challenge themselves to unlock data supporting great marketing (the who and the when) – that supports and enhances great creative (the what). We must deliver creative that uses science, not guesswork, to get and improve results.

If you’re interested in how consumers engage with communication, how we can test and match communication to individuals, and if you have a strong problem-solving ability, statistical and data analysis experience, we’d like to hear from you!

Starting out, we’ll ask you to take on these tasks:

    ·        Understand member or customer churn and help us model at-risk groups and prevent shopping behavior

    ·        Provide performance measurement and feedback on customer retention campaigns

    ·        Interpret and analyze business opportunities and problems with data

    ·        Work with Limetree analytics, account, and sales leadership to assist with acquisition of new business through expansion and new accounts

    ·        Mentor and support other members of the data science and analytics team

    ·        Test performance of data-driven actions

    ·        Create and build predictive models and analytic systems

    ·        Evaluate data sources and include analysis for performance impact

    ·        Create actionable insight reports supported with data visuals

    ·        Align data projects with organizational goals

    ·        Help build and manage a team of analysts at Limetree in accordance with business needs and goals

Together as we grow, there are opportunities to become a data science leader:

    ·        Manage a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and big data specialists

    ·        Conceive, plan, prioritize, and create/develop new data projects or products

    ·        Patent and build innovative modeling techniques

    ·        Experiment with new models and techniques

    ·        Earn-in potential for ownership shares

To be successful in those tasks, we’re looking for some important experience:

    ·        Current Python 3, SQL, and git experience (you will be working in Python daily and via the Limetree platform, meshing your work with that of your teammates)

    ·        4-7 Years of proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role

    ·        Solid understanding and 2+ years of data engineering or machine learning experience

    ·        Experience building predictive models

    ·        BS or strong background in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science

    ·        Experience working with public and private data sets

    ·        Fluency with SQL and Relational Databases, like PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL Server

    ·        Familiarity with scaled distributed big data tools such as dask, Hadoop, or similar

    ·        Familiarity with visualization techniques, Power BI, or other BI tool experience

    ·        Have a good work ethic, a desire to be efficient, learn and be challenged, and be self-driven and motivated

    ·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Intrigued by the challenge? Want to hear more about how data science supports the company vision?

Limetree’s company culture centers on boundless curiosity about consumers as people. Why do consumers behave in a particular way, and what does that mean to a marketer? How can we uncover the signals that tell us about differing behaviors? Where do we look to find insights that drive new opportunities? Is there hidden behavior that needs to be addressed with a different marketing placement? We are inquisitive, passionate, and all-in on helping marketers go from observation to insight to impact creative.

Data science at Limetree underpins our process that seeks to identify, understand, and activate existing and prospective customers with high impact communications. The insights not only help us identify the right customers to understand and reach out to, but they also help us paint a picture of their lives (demographics, trends, and psychographics), and how what kind of communication speaks to them specifically.

Finally, and importantly, your work and intuition will serve as valuable input to the innovative advances we incorporate into the Limetree Behavioral Marketing Approach. With a strong emphasis on leveraging machine learning and AI, your efforts will aim to bring forward the full benefit of Limetree’s behavioral marketing at scale: identifying actionable customer insights; understand, quantify, and improve the impact of creative.

Candidates should fit in with a friendly, family-flexible team that enjoys supporting each other as we tackle some cool problems.
