Technology/Network Assistant (Entry Level)
Job Description
This is an entry level position that will have flexible hours.
The first 220 hours are probational. Starting pay can change after the first 220 hours.
The intern would learn how to use and manage technology in a public school setting (Grades PREK-8).
INTERNS WILL WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING HARDWARE: Chromebooks, iPads, Windows Computers and Windows Laptops, Windows Servers, Apple Servers, Apple iMacs and iPads, iPhone, Apple TVs, SmartBoards, AverMedia Document Cameras, Video Cameras,
INTERNS WILL WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING SOFTWARE AND WEBSITE: Illinois SIS System, PowerSchool, PowerTeacher, Google Apps, Google Admin Console, JAMF, iOs, Windows, Windows Server, Mac Server, NWEA Map, AIMSWeb. various student software programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND OTHER DUTIES
● Work with SIS/Power School and working with data
● Work with Google Admin and deploy Chromebooks
● Assists staff with Power School professional development
● Responsible for responding to help desk requests submitted by staff to problem solve
technical issues
● Provides the leadership and direction needed to improve administrative operations
through more effective use of technology; assists in the forecasting of needs and
requirements
● Works collaboratively with District Director of Instructional Technology and District
Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to implement applications in
instructional technology that enhance student achievement in all subject areas
● Supports District Director of Instructional Technology and District Director of
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in providing leadership to teaching staff in best
use of technology to support student learning
● Assists District Director of Technology in managing District website and social media on
a weekly basis
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology in managing Power School and
printing and writing PowerSchool Reports as required and requested by the
Superintendent
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology and District Director of Curriculum,
Instruction, and Assessment with data analysis
● Works collaboratively with District Director of Instructional Technology and District
Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to develop, implement and oversee
the district wide Technology Plan
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology with directing and coordinating the
management of the district's internal and external web sites; collaborating with content
providers in departments and sites; and managing access and security
● Supports use of technology at school site
● Assists the District Director of Instructional Technology in developing and delivering
reports as needed to grantors, funding agencies, Board of Education, district personnel
and others
● Supports district reporting activities Power School, and ISBE
● Assists the District Director of Instructional Technology and the District Director of
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in evaluating the use of technology in the
classroom
● In collaboration with the District Director of Instructional Technology and the District
Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, provides professional development
for teachers and staff
● Supports the effective integration of technology in the classroom
● Demonstrates working knowledge of fundamental network design and common network
operating systems
● In collaboration with District Director of Instructional Technology and District Director
of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, systematically upgrades all devices
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology with design and implementation of
computer networks suitable for educational settings
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology in managing District e-mail system
and does not read email of employees unless directed in writing by Superintendent
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology and District Director of Curriculum,
Instruction, and Assessment in developing appropriate training materials for school
personnel
● Assists District Director of Instructional Technology and District Director of Curriculum,
Instruction, and Assessment in ensuring that all technology is working and does not
impact classroom performance in a negative manner
