Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our café team. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing soups, sandwiches, and salads in a fast-paced environment. This position requires attention to detail, cleanliness, and a passion for quality food preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of fresh soups, sandwiches, and salads according to café recipes and quality standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely and organized manner.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
Assist with prepping ingredients daily (chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, making dressings, aiolis etc.).
Follow food safety guidelines and proper kitchen procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the manager.
Assist with restocking and receiving deliveries as needed.
Maintain proper labeling and storage of food items.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
Qualifications:
Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred (especially in a café or deli setting).
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume setting.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Reliable and punctual with a positive team attitude.
Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment.
